Interview with First Sergeant Lewis J. Michelony, Jr., a Marine Corps veteran, concerning his experiences in the Pacific Theater during World War II and the Korean War. Michelony discusses his assignment to the 6th Marines in 1943, Guadalcanal, Tarawa, Saipan, Tinian, and also Korea and the Chosin Reservoir. Appendix includes photocopies of several documents, including letters that document the awarding of the Silver Star Medal and the Gold Star Medal to Lewis J. Michelony, Jr. [2 leaves] and a "Master Role of Officers and Enlisted Men of the U.S. Marine Corps" from November 1-30, 1943 [31 leaves]
